Class I Type devices are low-risk medical devices that require general control. Examples include bandages, electric toothbrushes, handheld surgical instruments, and non-electric wheelchairs.

Class II Type devices require special control due to moderate to high risk. Examples include surgical gloves, contact lenses, and pregnancy test kits.

Class III Type devices like pacemakers, breast implants, and high-frequency ventilators are considered high-risk Class III Type devices requiring premarket approval.
